MAKE A WATERCOLOR CARD WITH A FLORAL MOTIF

How to make a watercolor birthday card with floral motifI received a really beautiful email the other day from a reader (oh my gosh, I just LOVE getting emails like that!) and she told me how much she loved my watercolor illustrations. She also asked about my illustration process, so today, I will take you on a little watercolor journey and share a very simple tutorial on how to make your very own card (birthday, anniversary, just for fun,…) with a set of watercolors. Sounds fun?

This is what you will need to create your watercolor card with a floral motif:

pencil

ink pen

The right way to paint with watercolors is from light to dark: this means that you start with a light wash (lots of water) and add layers of color as you go. But don’t overthink this. Watercolors are loose and fun!

Make a watercolor birthday card with a floral motifI made mine a happy birthday card for my husband’s upcoming birthday. I hope he likes it. 🙂

It’s pretty easy, isn’t it? Do you enjoy watercolors as much as I do?
