Hello and thank you for stopping by! My name is Marketa Forstova-Horton (professionally known as Marketa F.Horton) and I’m the face behind these watercolor paintings. Growing up, I had no idea that I was going to spend my days with a brush dipped in watercolor paints, but I can’t certainly complain that life has lead me here. I’m blessed to wake up every day and make beautiful art for other people.
Who am I?
I am a full-blooded Bohemian girl, born in the heart of Bohemia in the Czech Republic. After years of living in this cozy European gem as well as some other parts of the world (England, Norway and New York) I made my new home in the mountains of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and I love it here! I live in a cozy mountain house, which is beautifully decorated with my daughter’s art creations. Besides getting my hands dirty with paint, I am obsessed with hiking, running, and working on my fairy garden.
Over the years, I’ve created custom art for hundreds of clients world-wide. I’ve worked on large-scale watercolor projects, wedding maps and invitations, property map paintings, love maps, all the way to illustrating children’s books. I’ve been lucky enough to work with a number of well-known people (celebrity is such a tabloid word, isn’t it?) and I’m beyond grateful for every single person who has trusted me to create something so special in their life.
