DIY STAMPED COASTERS

SONY DSC

Hello! Is it June yet? That would mean it’s time for a third art & lyrics project again. If you are new to my blog, I am doing a fun collaborative project with a talented young musician Gina Cimmelli, and each month I create a project inspired by her music! The first project I did was a DIY Lyrics Tote Bag, and last month we shared a Wine Bottle Printable + a Spiced Wine Recipe! The month on May was crazy. I have had a few dentist visits (more to come), so you may expect an addition to the Bitter section of my blog! As a result, I wanted to create a fun and simple project, that will just brighten up my day. So I picked up this really awesome cat singing stamp and a few natural stone tiles and created these fun DIY stamped coasters:

The song I selected for today’s project is “I wish”. I thought that the cute lyrics would match the nature of this project nicely!

Materials you will need: stone tiles (pick them up at Home Depot), a stamp, acrylic paint, and a brush. Easy! Simply brush up a thin layer of paint on the stamp and press to the stone. I purposely picked the natural stone with a rough surface, because I love that effect! Then I added the first line of the lyrics on top. Oh, yes, the kittens are singing your song, Gina!

Fun, easy, and practical! Love, Marketa

These are great! I had no idea that you could use paint on your stamps and the design would come through so clearly. Does the stamp clean easily afterwards?

Thanks for sharing, pinned and stumbled!ReplyCancel

Emily, thanks for sharing! I used acrylic paint, so the stamped washed off really nicely with just some soap and water. 🙂ReplyCancel

Those turned out really nice. Does the ink run at all from the condensate on the cup? Oh are they fine to use for everyday?ReplyCancel

Dawn, I have been using these for a week now, and the paint has been holding up fine so far! I use these mostly for coffee and tea. 🙂ReplyCancel
