If you are anything like me, you desperately need some zen in your life…That’s why zen gardens are one of my favorite simple crafts. I make one a few times a year to reflect on the current season or my mood. I love to include candles, flower petals, pebbles, sand, shells,…and the list goes on. Occasionally, I mix in plants too. The great thing about zen gardens is that there is no “right way” to make it- it’s entirely up to you (my kind of thing!). Choose whatever container you like and fill it up with what makes you happy (or as in my case, whatever you have available).
I had some green sand, which I used as the base. The other materials I used were: pebbles, candle votives, tea candles, and a rose petal.
See how simple it is to make a zen garden? They are incredibly soothing to look at. I put one in my home office, so it keeps me company all day. And believe me, there are times like these or these when I really need something soothing in my life! I like to light the candles in the evening, and it looks so….well, zen. Ready to get zen yet?
