Daydreaming in the meadows of South Korea…with handpainted wedding stationery, pretty flowers and lovely surroundings. This styled shoot was total a daydream in itself! It started with an online friendship between me and Roxy, a fabulous South African blogger and a photographer, who lives in South Korea. You really have to love the Internet- how else would a Czech-American girl who lives on Long Island, New York would ever meet a South African girl in Korea? Although our roots are different, we are total soul sisters- so creating this shoot was just dreamy. We both love outdoor, botanical style, so the concept was clear to us right away: meadows, simple wildflowers, and a touch of watercolors.
Since our concept was to stick to botanical colors, I decided to keep the stationery simple and focus on using whimsical handwritten fonts and add just a few touches of handpainted watercolor flowers. I also designed a custom wedding planner for this shoot, which I also kept very simple. I painted three watercolor paintings (of a cake, weddings dress, and shoes) that were used as props. Boy, did I have fun painting these!
While I was busy designing and creating, Roxy found two fabulous creatives to join our little venture: Rachel McGovin Porter, who is a talented international make-up artist (I love the natural, dewy look she created!) and the beautiful Jessica GW Han, who was our model. They were both such a great addition to our (international) team! All I can say is: thank you, ladies, for making this happen! And thank you, dear readers, for making our efforts worth-while!
