I LOVE gatefold wedding invitations! Maybe because I love books and gatefold invitations are kind of like little books. You have a front cover and a back cover and a surprise to be uncovered inside- epic!
Gatefold wedding invitations are not your cookie cutter invites. You can have the invitation text hiding inside, or- like I did it in the example below- you can start with the invite on the cover and let it open up to something fun on the inside- a map or an illustration.
Gatefold wedding invitations are larger than your typical 5″ X 7″ invites- when they unfold, they will be as big as a standard sheet of paper (8.5″ X 11″). They are definitely what I would call a statement piece!
Below, I am answering some of the FAQ I get about gatefold wedding invitations:
How much do gatefold invitations cost?
You can expect to pay approx. 1,500 for 100 sets of invites. Many brides also choose to add a string or a ribbon, an rsvp card, details card, a wedding map, or an envelope liner.
What’s the postage cost?
A standard 3-piece suite with no maps or liners will fall within 1 ounce, which will need a 50-cent stamp. Anything bigger and heavier, you will need to use a 70-cent stamp. For gatefold invitations, you will most likely need a 70-cent stamp.
What’s the turnaround on gatefold invitations?
Current turnaround on gatefold invitations ranges from 3-5 months. I like to have as much as possible to create your one-of-a-kind piece!
