The theme: Amita and Daven wanted a wedding invitation that would pay homage to their Indian roots without being “a typical Indian wedding invitation”. This modern couple, living in the heart of New York City, wanted something completely different. They were also kind enough to give me the reigns when it came to creative direction. I started by painting a custom peacock wedding crest for them, and then added subtle peacock elements throughout the suite. I also included traditional Indian lotus flowers, but I wanted to give the invitation a fresh and modern look with an elegant laser cut and soft pastel color palette.
The colors: Because the couple wanted something unexpected with their invitations, I opted for soft, pastel tones- blues, pinks, and purples which created a lovely contest with the dramatic design.
