WINE LABEL PRINTABLE + SPICED WINE RECIPE

clementine wine project coverHello! So excited to bring a project number 2 in my collaboration with musician Gina Cimmelli! Last month we kicked off our Arts & Lyrics project with this DIY Lyrics Bag, and today we are introducing a brand new project! For this one, Gina suggested that we take her song Clementine from her new album as inspiration. “Let’s do somethings with wine,” she said. The lyrics of “Clementine” start with “One glass of wine”…I immediately fell in love with this idea and my brain started to fill with ideas. Eventually, we settled on giving you a two part project: a free Clementine wine label printable and a spiced wine recipe!

Clementine wine label printable

I thought that creating a custom wine label would be a great way to celebrate this song. I have decided to keep it simple and clean with a chalkboard background and lyrics on the side. This will make a fun gift as well! I made this label into a free printable, so click here to print yours: Clementine wine label.

Clementine wine labelAll you need is a printing label sheet. You can get one at your closest office supplies store or online. After you print the label, simply cut it out, peel, and stick it on a wine bottle. I recycled a bottle of red wine I had at home- I just peeled off the original label.

Spiced wine recipe

Now off to the second part of our project, spiced wine! This recipe is an original Czech recipe for hot, spiced wine and although it may be getting a bit too warm for a hot beverage, I think this one is a keeper! It’s not only delicious, but also very easy to make.

SONY DSC

SONY DSCIngredients:

4 cups of red wine (I have heard of white wine version, but these spices and citrus fruit definitely pair up better with red)

spices (anise star, cinnamon, cloves)- about 3-4 of each

sugar (3 tablespoons, feel free to add more or less deepening on your taste)

a few slices of orange and lemon

SONY DSCBoil fruit, spices and sugar in about 1 cup of water for around 15 minutes. A lot of water will evaporate and that’s ok. You just want to create a very thick, sugary base that will absorb all the flavors. Then add the wine. Cook for just a few minutes; avoid boiling the wine, as all the alcohol would evaporate. (Unless you want to make a reduced-alcohol beverage, and that’s fine too).

SONY DSCThe wine tastes best when served hot, so feel free to sample it right away. As I said, this recipe is great for the winter, but it will be a great addition to your spring and summer night parties as well. Oh, and I drank mine with homemade naan pizza and it was absolutely delicious together! Cheers! Hope you enjoyed our second music collaboration, and definitely stay tuned for the next one!
