DIY FELT PHONE CASE

Whether you are waiting for the iPhone 6, or you are a proud owner of an Android, or you are still carrying your flip phone (hello, dad), chances are that you have SOME kind of cell phone. So the great thing about this tutorial is that it works for any phone of any size- because you use your phone as the template. You could even argue that you will be creating a custom phone cover! In any case, this felted case (pun intended) is really easy and inexpensive to make. Ready to make your very own felt phone case?

To make a felt phone case, you will need:

Felt

scissors

needle and thread

cute button

scissors

pencil and ruler

pins (optional, but helpful)

Use your phone as a template and outline your general phone cover. It should look something like this:

If you have pins, they are really helpful holding the shape together while you sew. You can, of course, use a sewing machine, but it’s really quick and simple just to sew it by hand.

I am not the best at sewing- I lack the patience to be super exact, but since I am just making one for me, I cut myself some slack…(hey, it’s the “handmade” look, right?)

Once you sew all around, just add a button to the bottom part and a buttonhole to the top part. I picked a really cute cupcake button (Do you love it or do you think it’s too much? 🙂 )

Easy, isn’t it? A felt phone case makes a really great handmade gift, too. Although we are still 2.5 months away from Christmas, it’s never too early to get started!
