Custom Sheep Farm Property Map

Sheep Farm Property Map

About an hour away from Saint Paul- Minneapolis lies the most adorable sheep farm I ever laid my eyes on. There are exactly 14 sheep that live on this beautiful land, guarded by two oversized (but totally cute) dogs. And yes, every sheep has a name and a sparkling personality. It was my first time being around sheep and I learnt a lot. Mostly that they love to eat. A LOT.

The next highlight for me were the gardens. Oh, the gardens. I will never forget the beauty of these rich gardens- flowers, more flowers, vegetables, fruit bushes, apple orchard, cherry trees,…there was just so much to fall in love with. And in between all the plants were four sweet kitty cats. I made friends with them all- one of them even supervised my sketches. I think he approved of them.

There were wildflower fields galore and even an apiary. I loved spending my time at this wonderful farm and painting this detail-rich painting!

Heirloom Maps

I call these maps “heirlooms” because I like to capture not just the natural beauty of the space, but also the life within it. The meaningful moments between people, the memories that make it extra special. This watercolor property map truly includes all the incredible details this property had to offer. Lucky for me, I’m a bit of a nut for little details, so there were a TON that made it into this painting.

If you have a property, whether it’s a farm, a hunting land, a family home, or commercial land, and you’d like to have a custom, original watercolor map made, please email me at marketafhorton@gmail.com or fill out the form on my website. The process of creation one of these maps is fun, heart-warming, meaningful, and inspiring. The custom maps can be made in a variety of sizes, from 22″ x 30″ all the way to 40″ x 60″. My hope is that they’ll capture the hearts of your entire family and become an heirloom that is passed down generations.

Who is the map for?

I work with both private property owners and businesses on crafting the perfect map for their property. This includes: family estate, ranches, vineyards, property development, parks, farms, orchards, resorts and more!

How long does the process take?

Typically, I complete the painting within 4-7 months, depending on my current schedule and the time of the year.

When do you travel to visit properties?

I prefer to travel in the warmer months of the year (May-October) when nature is at its best and I can highlight its beauty into the painting.

Can I get a digital or a physical copy of the painting?

Yes! The original painting can be art captured and digitized. We can further resize the digital file and print as many copies as you need. (Both smaller and larger). You will always get the original painting as well.
